New Parent Accommodation

Guidelines for New Parent Accommodation for Postdoctoral Appointments can be found here. Below you will find information on how to obtain approval for paid leave.

To determine if your need for leave is FMLA qualifying (see more here), a Certification of Health Care Provider Form needs to be completed by your physician and returned to the Absence Management Team. You must also complete the Leave Details Form 1287 and return it to the Absence Management Team.

Penn State University Managed Centers

Penn State currently offers two University-managed and three third-party contracted child care centers, operated by Bright Horizons, for its employees:

Other Centers in Centre County

The Learning Station
Discovery Child Development Center
Our Children’s Center
St Paul’s Christian Preschool

The wait for enrollment can be long, particularly for infants and toddlers, therefore, we strongly recommend that parents submit applications  soon after accepting a position at Penn State.

Consider taking a tour of the facilitates and use this checklist as a guide to help you choose the program with which you are most comfortable.
